MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee opens up home conference play against a LA Tech team that is still looking for their first C-USA win of the year.
Last weekend, the Blue Raiders found success on the road against UTSA, taking two of three from the Roadrunners, while the Bulldogs were swept by Southern Miss.
Last season, MT played some of their best baseball at LA Tech, winning two games against a Bulldog team that would finish second in the C-USA standings.
Darien Prewett came into that series with just three starts under his belt, but made the most of his weekend in Ruston. The center fielder batted .556, picking up five hits during that series.
Scouting LA Tech: The Bulldogs enter the series as one of the best offensive teams in C-USA. They're batting .294 as a team and are second in home runs with 22. Mason Mallard has had the hot stick for LA Tech, batting .380 through 20 games. Mallard, as well as Steele Netterville, pace the teams with four homeruns.
Reese Smith Jr. Field will be the place to be this weekend. Friday will feature Jersey Night, with the first 100 fans wearing their favorite team's jersey receiving a free MT t-shirt. Sunday's game will be Superhero Day, with the first 200 fans receiving a free MT superhero mask.
