ATHENS, Ohio – The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team prepares for second round action of the Women's National Invitational Tournament after knocking down IUPUI in Murfreesboro on Thursday evening. The team will travel to Athens, Ohio for their next contest against Ohio University on Sunday, March 24 at 2:00p.m.
Scouting Ohio University
This Sunday's meeting will mark the third overall meeting between Middle Tennessee and Ohio, with the Bobcats holding a 2-0 advantage. Ohio is making its third appearance in the WNIT after having previously made back-to-back appearances in 2016 and 2017. The Bobcats are 3-2 in WNIT play.
The team features the MAC Defensive Player of the Year, Cece Hooks and the Freshman and Sixth Woman of the Year, Erica Johnson.
Blue Raiders WNIT History
Sunday's contest will mark the Lady Raiders 14th contest in WNIT action, as the team has a 7-6 (.538) overall record in the post season tournament. All seven of the Middle Tennessee WNIT wins have come under the helm of head coach Rick Insell.
Lady Raiders in the Postseason
Middle Tennessee is making its 16th consecutive postseason appearance and 14th straight under Insell. The Lady Raiders are making their 25th overall postseason appearance with 18 in the NCAA and seven in the WNIT.

Looking Back at the C-USA Championship
Seniors' A'Queen Hayes and Alex Johnson were named to the C-USA All-Tournament team after helping lead Middle Tennessee into the title game versus Rice. Hayes averaged 18.3 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game while Johnson added 17.0 points per game.
