PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. - Middle Tennessee fought to the final point with Georgia State in the final regular season match, but the Blue Raiders dropped a tight 4-3 decision to the Panthers.

Georgia State grabbed the first point in the match by claiming wins on courts two and three, with MT top doubles partners Tom Moonen and Chris Edge being left unfinished leading 4-3.

In singles play, the Blue Raiders knotted the score with a win from senior Gonzalo Morell at No. 1 which was his 77th win of his career, a decisive 6-2, 6-3. The freshman phenom, Pavel Motl won his sixth-straight and 22nd match of the season ranking him tied for 8th in the freshman records. The Panthers took the lead back with wins at No. 4 and 5, but the hot Tom Moonen earned a two-set win on court three to tie the score up at 3-3.

The match came down to court two, where Sitjn Slump tried to make it his 18th win on the season and a big win for the Blue Raiders. Slump fell in the first set 7-5, then took the second to a tiebreaker but fell in close battle.
