MURFREESBORO – Chelsea Floyd, the interim marketing director for the 2018-19 academic year, has been elevated to Assistant AD for Marketing and Fan Engagement as announced by Middle Tennessee Director of Athletics Chris Massaro on Monday.
"As an interim last year, Chelsea did a tremendous job of leading the marketing department, injecting enthusiasm and displaying excellent strategic management skills," said Massaro. "We are all very excited to add her experience and ideas to help make our events even better in the future."
In her role, Floyd will be responsible for the day-to-day marketing and game day marketing for all 17 sports while also serving as the department's liaison with the Collegiate Licensing Company.
Floyd, a 2016 graduate of Middle Tennessee, joined the Blue Raider athletic department in January 2017 as assistant director of marketing and fan engagement. She served in that role until July 2018 when she was named interim marketing director.
After earning her degree in marketing from Middle Tennessee, Floyd joined the Johnson City Cardinals in June 2016. She was responsible for all marketing, groups and promotions for the short season rookie league Cardinals.
Floyd is from Knoxville where she attended Hardin Valley Academy.
"Middle Tennessee has been home to me since I started college in 2012," said Floyd. "I knew when I left after earning my undergraduate degree, I would do whatever I could to get back and be a part of Middle Tennessee Athletics. This community, the Blue Raider fans, and staff have become family to me. I'm excited about the future of this department and all the exciting things we will bring to the fan atmosphere at all of our sporting events."
