Blue Raiders Set to Face First Outside Opponent of the Fall

Murfreesboro, TN.- The Middle Tennessee baseball team will play Columbia State Community College in a planned 14 inning scrimmage tomorrow at Reese Smith Jr. Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM.
The Scrimmage will be broken up into one eight inning game and a six inning game with a 30 minute intermission in between.
So far this fall, Blue Raider pitching has been dominate. During the last four intra-squad scrimmages Raider pitchers have combined for 71 strikeouts.
"I'm really proud of the pitchers for throwing an awful lot of strikes," said Head Coach Jim Toman. "We've got a lot of work to do offensively, but that's normal early in the fall that the pitchers are ahead of the hitters."
After the matchup between the Blue Raiders and the Chargers, MT will face their second and final outside opponent of the fall on October 12 in a meeting with Motlow College.
The Blue Raiders have played seven intra-squad scrimmages this fall, and will play 10 more including the annual Blue/White World Series scheduled for October 18-20.
All games during the fall are free to attend and will be played at Reese Smith Jr. Stadium.
