MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Blue Raider volleyball team is looking to bounce back this weekend as they travel to Cedar City, Utah for the Thunderbird Classic where they will face Southern Utah, Boise State and Saint Mary's.
The first match of the weekend for MT is against Boise State on Friday, and this will be the first ever matchup between the Blue Raiders and Broncos.
Boise State comes into the tournament with a 1-2 record, dropping matches to both BYU and Marquette last weekend in the BYU Nike Invitational, and claiming their first win of the season against Utah Valley in four sets.
For the final match of the day on Friday, MT will take on host Southern Utah. The Thunderbirds have a 3-0 record to start the season after claiming all three matches in the Utah State Invitational last weekend.
The Thunderbirds won in three sets in their matches against Xavier and Eastern Michigan, and went to five sets with Utah State.
The final match of the tournament for the Blue Raiders is against Saint Mary's on Saturday. The Gaels are 1-2 overall on the season after dropping matches to Utah and Kentucky, and securing the win against Cal Poly in three sets.
