Raiders suffer first setback

MT drops the match 4-1 to Vanderbilt
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee men's tennis team fell short to Vanderbilt, 4-1, on Friday at the Currey Tennis Center.
Senior Tom Moonen and junior Chris Edge kicked off the match for the Raiders, taking down Vanderbilt's Harwell and Freeman, 6-3.
Doubles point was decided by senior duo Max Rauch and Daniel Stormon on Court 3, the pair fought hard to secure the win, 6-4, and the doubles point.
Heading into singles, Moonen battled against Vanderbilt's Harwell but he clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-4. Tying the match up at 1-all.
The Commodores extended their lead to 3-1, earning victories over No. 76 Edge, 7-5, 6-2, and senior Rauch, 7-5, 6-4.
With Rocha, Slump and Motl still on the court. The Raiders began an attempt at a comeback. But would fall short as Rocha was defeated in the third set.
The Raiders are back in action back at the Adams Tennis Complex, on Sunday for a doubleheader with Alabama A&M and North Alabama.
