Lady Raiders Set for MTSU Tournament

MURFREESBORO, TN – Middle Tennessee women's tennis is set to begin the MTSU Tournament at the Adams Tennis Complex when they host three different schools this weekend. Matches will take place on the outdoor courts Friday and Saturday, weather permitting.
This will be the first opportunity for the Blue Raiders to play competitive tennis on their home courts. The team returns six players from the 2019-20 season, which ended with a six-match win streak.
The Raiders came out of the Gridiron Classic with nine wins, Lee Barnard, Lidia Burrows and sophomore Muskan Gupta recorded a 2-1 record in singles on the weekend. The Raiders also collected two doubles wins, Zani Barnard and Muskan Gupta took down Gibbens and Vane Hee of Chattanooga, 8-6. Freshman Liliana Danajovski won her first doubles with Gupta as they topped Khrustaleva and Svitlica of Troy.
The Opponents
Student-athletes from three different schools will come to the Adams Tennis Complex to compete in the tournament. The participating schools will be ETSU, WKU and UTC.
