Raiders go 10-0 on first day
HATTIESBURG, MS – Middle Tennessee men's tennis team went undefeated on day one of the Southern Miss Invitational collecting 10 wins against Southern Miss and Chattanooga opponents on Friday.
Doubles Recap
The Blue Raiders found their footing late in doubles play, falling behind in two of three doubles before pulling out the doubles sweep. Tom Moonen and Sean Presson fell behind 0-3 in the start of their match but rebounded and earned the first win for the Blue Raiders, 6-4. Pavel Motl and Max Rauch built off the momentum capturing the second doubles win, 6-4. Similar to Moonen/Presson, Andreas Kramer and Oskar Michalek fell behind early but would respond and clinch a 7-6 win.
Singles Recap
The Blue Raiders wasted no time in the singles matches with freshman Kramer getting the win over Southern Miss Koscinski (6-0, 6-0).
Rauch followed up Kramer's win with a win of his own (6-2, 6-1) over Kaisei Kuroki. Motl was the next Raider to finish after his defeat of Plaisted of Chattanooga (6-3, 6-3).
The Raiders continued its dominance, earning the another singles win with Moonen topping his opponent Nevenhoven (6-1, 6-1). The final three wins came from Rocha, Presson and Michalek each with straight-set wins.
Up next, Middle Tennessee returns to play as they take on South Alabama Saturday at 10 a.m. CT.
