Raiders open Bonus Play on the road

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – With the traditional portion of the Conference USA Men's Basketball schedule complete after Saturday afternoon's contests, the league office announced on Sunday each member institution's opponents, locations and dates for their four Bonus Play games.
The Blue Raiders find themselves in group three alongside Southern Miss, Rice and UTEP. As the No. 14 seed Middle Tennessee will face No. 11 seed Southern Miss twice, a match-up MT should have some confidence in having defeated the Golden Eagles three weeks ago.
Middle Tennessee starts the second edition of Bonus Play on the road, kicking things off with a trip to face the Golden Eagles at Reed-Green Coliseum next Saturday, Feb. 22, at noon. The Blue Raiders previously defeated USM 65-63 in Murphy Center on Jan. 25.
Head Coach Nick McDevitt and his squad remain on the road for their second Bonus Play game, making a weekend trip to Rice for a 2:00 p.m. tip on Sunday, Mar. 1. Middle Tennessee dropped their first meeting against the Owls by a score of 91-83 just over a week ago.
The Blue Raiders then return to Murphy Center for a pair of home games to finish Bonus Play off, first hosting the UTEP Miners on Wednesday, Mar. 4 at 6:30 p.m. before Southern Miss makes the return trip to Murfreesboro on Saturday, Mar. 7, for a 5:00 p.m. tip. Middle Tennessee dropped a heartbreaker to UTEP on the road on Jan. 30, falling 67-66 after missing a chance to tie it at the buzzer.
Middle Tennessee's final home game against the Golden Eagles will serve as Senior Night for the 2020 senior class of Tupelo, Miss., native Antonio Green and Augusta, Ga., native Reggie Scurry.
