RETURN TO FLOYD GUIDELINES
MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee's home opener on Sept. 19 against Troy is now moving from ESPNU to ESPN2. The game was previously set to appear on ESPN3/+ as part of the Conference USA television partnership then was moved to ESPNU on Sept. 1 before the latest change to ESPN2.
The Blue Raiders and Troy will play a home-and-home this season due to changes in the schedule by COVID-19.
Middle Tennessee and Troy were Sun Belt Conference rivals with the game annually billed as "The Battle for the Palladium." The first meeting was in 1936 but The Battle for the Palladium began in 2003.
The Palladium currently resides in Murfreesboro after the Blue Raiders defeated Troy 24-21 in the last meeting in 2012. ESPN ranked the rivalry game as one of the Top 5 non-BCS games in 2008.
Earlier in the week it was announced Middle Tennessee will allow 20 percent capacity for fans, which means that about 7,000 fans will be allowed in the stadium, including 1,000 seats held for students. Tailgating will not be permitted.
