Lady Raiders Travel to Miami to Take on the Panthers

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team returns to the road this weekend when it takes on FIU inside Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
Middle Tennessee's Friday and Saturday matchup with FIU can be seen on CUSA.tv. Also, fans are encouraged to tune into the following radio stations to hear the broadcast by Dick Palmer and Duane Hickey WGNS 1450 AM/100.5 FM/101.9 FM/TuneIn App.

- Middle Tennessee earned the two-game sweep over Florida Atlantic with a 66-64 decision in its last outing. Senior Deja Cage hit a layup with nine-tenths of a second remaining to avoid overtime and give the Lady Raiders the victory. Sophomore guard Aislynn Hayes scored 23 points and grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds to earn her second career double-double.
- Anastasia Hayes reached the 1,000-point mark of her career with the first of two free throws with 2:24 remaining in the first quarter against Florida Atlantic in the first game of the series last weekend.
- Anastasia Hayes has opened the 2020-21 season with 22-plus points in all seven games. She has also scored 22-plus points in 11 straight games dating back to last season.
- Middle Tennessee ranks 12th nationally and first in C-USA for 3-point field goals per game with 10 per outing and 29th nationally for 3-point field goals made with 70. The Lady Raiders have connected for seven-plus treys in each of their last five games, including 17 vs. Troy.

- Pitt transfer Kyla Nelson leads FIU in scoring with 14.8 ppg. She poured in a career-high 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting in FIU's first game against ODU last weekend.
- Newcomer Emerald Ekpiteh averages a double-double (11.9 ppg, 10.4 rpg) while junior Jiselle Thomas averages 13.9 ppg.
- FIU has C-USA's top-scoring offense at 78.8 ppg.
- It will be a battle between the best three-point shooting teams in the conference this weekend. The Panthers are first in C-USA in three-point field goals made and second in three-point field goals per game.
