MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders (6-5-1, 2-2 C-USA) pick up their first C-USA road win of the season with a 1-0 victory over the Florida Atlantic Owls (3-5-4, 1-1-2 C-USA) on Friday evening at FAU Soccer Stadium.
"This was a good win against a strong FAU team," expressed head coach Aston Rhoden. "I'm really proud of our team and the character we showed."
Senior Sam DeBien led the Blue Raiders in the contest, netting the game-winner, and taking two shots, both of which she put on goal.
Sophomore Taylor Hamlett and senior Peyton DePriest also had two shots in the contest, committing two and one on goal, respectively. Senior Miya Lennon and junior Cambell Kivisto also recorded shots in the contest. Freshman Kirstine Lykke tallied the assist on the Blue Raiders' score against the Owls.

Middle Tennessee opened the game strong as the Blue Raiders controlled the first 30 minutes of the match, outscoring Florida Atlantic 4-0, including three shots on target. The Owls flipped the script over the final 15 minutes of the period however as FAU evened the shots to four apiece, committing one on target as both teams headed to the locker room in a scoreless stalemate.
The Blue Raiders came out of the locker room on a mission. A mission that DeBien accomplished in the 57th minute. Eleanor Gough set up for a Blue Raider corner, delivering it into the box. After bouncing around between Blue Raiders and Owls, DeBien collected the loose ball and knocked it passed the FAU keeper and into the right ride of the net to give the Blue Raiders the 1-0 advantage with a little more than 30 minutes to play. The score proved to be the game-winner as the horn sounded and the Blue Raiders claimed the 1-0 road victory over FAU.
