MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Soccer continues its two-game road stretch on Friday as the Blue Raiders travel to the Tar Heel State to face the Charlotte 49ers for a 6 p.m. CT matchup at Transamerica Field.
C-USA Leader
Senior Peyton DePriest leads Conference USA in goals scored with eight and total points with 19 through 12 games this season. DePriest also leads the conference in shots (54), shots on goal (23), goals per game (.67), points per game (1.58), shots per game (4.50), and shots on goal per game (1.92).
Nationally, DePriest currently leads all NCAA D-I active career leader in goals scored at the D-I level with 54 goals over her five-year career.
Defending the Goal
Junior Hannah Suder has been a strong presence between the posts for the Blue Raiders this season. Suder is second in C-USA for saves with 51 rejections through 12 games this season. Suder has also secured a pair of shutouts against Belmont and Florida Atlantic this season, matching her previous season-high.
Scouting the Blue Raiders
Middle Tennessee Soccer enters Friday's contest with a 6-5-1 record and a 2-2 mark in C-USA play. The Blue Raiders currently sit one spot behind Charlotte in fourth place in the C-USA East standings.

Charlotte's Abby Stapleton has led the 49ers between the posts this season, playing nine contests and 791 minutes for the Green and White. Stapleton has tallied a team-best 24 saves and holds a 4-4-1 record with two shutouts so far in the 2021 campaign.

The Blue Raiders earned their first conference road win and second shutout of the season, defeating the FAU Owls 1-0 on Friday evening.
The Blue Raiders controlled the early moments of the match, taking four shots and holding the Owls shotless through the first 30 minutes of play. FAU fought back over the final 15 minutes of the opening period but both teams remained scoreless heading into the halftime break.
Middle Tennessee kept the pressure on heading into the second half, before DeBien netted the game-winner in the 57th minute. Sophomore Eleanor Gough delievered a corner kick into the box, that was collected by DeBien off a rebound and punched in past the FAU keeper to put the Blue Raiders on the board first and eventually proved to be the game winner as Middle Tennessee claimed the 1-0 shutout victory.

Friday's contest marks the eighth meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Charlotte 49ers. The all-time series between the two programs remains even at 3-3-1. The 49ers hold the slight advantage for contests played on their home field, leading 2-1-1 in the Tarheel State.
