Middle Tennessee faces road test in Troy Saturday

TROY, Ala. – Middle Tennessee travels back on the road Saturday for its sixth game away from home this season when it heads to Troy. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Trojan Arena.

Thanks to a 29-point third quarter, the Blue Raiders coasted past Lipscomb. Behind 16 3-pointers and a season-high 84 points, the Blue raiders matched the program's best start since 1995 at 7-1.
Every Lady Raider scored. Leading the way were Jalynn Gregory and Courtney Whitson, who scored 15 points each. Gregory, Conference USA's Freshman of the Week, hit 5-of-6 3-point attempts from beyond the arc, pulled five rebounds and dished three assists. Whitson recorded five rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Troy comes into the matchup with Middle Tennessee 4-5 after losing its past two games. The Trojans have given up 90-or-more points in three games this season. All four of Troy's wins have come at home.
Troy scores 75.3 points per game and while the Trojans are shooting 37.1 percent from the field, opponents are shooting 41.4 percent. Defensively, Troy averages 4.8 blocks and 10.1 steals per contest.
Amber Leggett is the team's leading scorer at 13 points per game. Felmas Koranga follows with 12.9 points per game in addition to her 11.1 rebounds per game. Koranga is second on the team with 12 steals and tied for first with 14 blocks. Rounding out the double digit scorers is Tuyah Johnson with 10.1 points a game.
Chanda Rigby is in her 10th season as head coach of Troy. The Trojans have reached the NCAA Tournament three times, including last season's 22-6 (15-2) Sun Belt Tournament champions.

- This season's roster includes five international players from five different countries.
- Five of the 11 non-conference opponents were NCAA Tournament teams last season: VCU, Marquette, Mercer, Troy and Belmont.
- The Lady Raiders held five of their first seven opponents, including their first four, to less than 50 points, marking the only time in program history that a MT team has held four straight foes to less than 50 points during any stretch.
- MT has enjoyed great road success under HC Rick Insell. The Lady Raiders are 145-79 overall on the road under Insell, for a 65 percent winning ledger.
