Blue Raiders Fall to Vanderbilt in Exhibition Contest

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After nearly a year and a half away from the Dean Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium, an excited Middle Tennessee soccer team took the field against in-state foe Vanderbilt on Monday. It wasn't a banner night for the Blue Raiders as the Commodores won 4-0 in MTSU's final exhibition match of the season.

It was a tightly contested match in the first half, seeing both teams go into the locker room at halftime with a scoreless draw. Within the first 10 minutes of the second half, Vanderbilt netted a pair of goals just two minutes apart and would then go on to secure two more goals late to run away with this one.

Middle Tennessee was led by its' sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Suder, who had a fantastic outing. The Jacksonville, Florida native had nine saves and even was able to keep out a penalty shot with a marvelous diving save late in the second half.

Middle Tennessee's next match will come on this Friday, February 26, as the Blue Raiders play host to Conference USA rival Western Kentucky. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
