Blue Raiders Earn Four Event Titles at Tiger Track Classic

AUBURN, Ala. - On the last day of competition at the Tiger Track Classic, Middle Tennessee collected seven podium finishes, including three event titles. Saturday's performance brought the Blue Raiders medal count to double digits on the weekend (10) and the Blue Raiders title count to four.
Erhire Omamuyovwi had an impressive outing, winning the men's triple jump. Amara Obi (women's 200-meter dash) and Mercy Chepkurui (women's 3000 meters) rounded out first-place finishes for Middle Tennessee.
Jumps
Middle Tennessee was represented on the podium in the men's triple jump as freshman Erhire Omamuyovwi claimed the gold medal with a 14.96-meter jump.
Throws
Regina Yeboah finished 28th in the women's shot put with a throw of 9.00 meters.
Sprints
Ida Mensah finished 28th in the women's 100 meters. In the men's 100 meters sophomore, Quincey Riley clocked 10.95 to finish 11th while Courtland Jordan ran an 11.53 to finish 14th.
In her outdoor debut freshman, Amara Obi captured the women's 200-meter dash crown with a time of 23.70. Cecilia Francis finished 10th while Dorcas Gyimah rounded out the field with a 30th place finish.
In the women's 400-meter dash, Patience Akanwogba ran a 59.84 to finish 18th while Quanisha Marshall finished 21st with a time of 1:01.34. Nickson Pierre was the lone Blue Raider in the men's 400-meter dash as he took 10th place with a run of 49.49.
Middle Distance
Eusila Chepkemei captured the bronze in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:08.21. On the men's side, Brian Rono took the silver with a time of 1:50.89. Jacob Choge ran a 1:55.45 to finish 16th while Kigen Chemadi finished 22nd and Isaiah Strauel in 24th place.
Joice Jebor finished seventh, and Faith Rono finished eighth in the women's 1500 meters, while Francisca Jebor finished 16th. Middle Tennessee recorded another bronze finish thanks to Isaiah Strauel's 4:02.00 performance in 1500 meters.
Long Distance
Mercy Chepkurui captured the Blue Raiders third event title of the weekend with a 23.70 finish in the women's 3000 meters. Caitlin Cunningham would finish ninth with a time of 10:11.25. Thobile Mosito would take the silver in the men's 3000 meters with a run of 8:17.03, while Ryan Matson earned a 14th place finish.
Hurdles
Glory Nyenke earned a seventh-place finish in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.51.
