Blankenship, Grate on Senior Bowl Watch List

MURFREESBORO - Middle Tennessee's Reed Blankenship and Gregory Grate have both been selected to the 2022 Reese's Senior Bowl Watch List which was announced today. This marks the second year in a row Blankenship has been on the list and the first for Grate.
The Reese's Senior Bowl, played in Mobile, Alabama, is the nation's most prestigious college all-star game, serving annually as the first step of the NFL Draft process. The Reese's Senior Bowl had 106 total players drafted and 36 selected in the first three rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Two full NFL coaching staffs are included in the Reese's Senior Bowl each year. In 2021, the teams were coached by the Carolina Panthers and the Miami Dolphins. The game is shown live on the NFL Network.
Inclusion on the list is just the latest for Blankenship, who this preseason has also been named to the watch lists for the Bednarik Award, C-USA Preseason, and is a nominee for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team . The safety from Athens, Alabama was named to the All-Conference-USA Second Team in 2019, the First Team in 2018 and Honorable Mention in 2017, as well as the C-USA All-Freshman Team.
Grate, a first team all-conference pick last season, is coming off a career year with 74 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, four interceptions, three pass breakups, a fumble recovery and three forced fumbles. He ranked among the national leaders in interceptions and forced fumbles.
