Softball releases fall slate

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee softball is scheduled to play eight opponents in a span of four weeks as part of its 2021 fall schedule, announced Tuesday.
Six of the eight games will be played at Blue Raider Softball Stadium.
The schedule opens with a pair of road games against Tennessee State and Appalachian State in September followed by six consecutive home games in October. The fall season concludes with the Blue Raider Blue and White World Series Oct. 19-21.
Middle Tennessee finished the 2021 season 26-22 overall and 11-8 in Conference USA play.
The Blue Raiders return 16 letterwinners (three starters), including its top hitter in Kelci Hill. A junior outfielder from Murrieta Calif., Hill batted .366 with 56 hits and an OPS of .890 in 47 games played.
In the circle, the duo of Kailey Ahlstrom and Corrina Dodd are back as part of a staff that returns five of its six pitchers. Ahlstrom finished with a team-best 2.05 ERA while Dodd led the Blue Raiders in strikeouts with 58.
