Oscarson led the way with 11 kills and seven total blocks on the day

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Middle Tennessee volleyball team took on FIU for their second home match of the Conference USA season. The Blue Raider block turned out to be the biggest factor of the match, giving MTSU a four-set victory over the Panthers.

The Blue Raiders (12-5, 1-2 C-USA) got their first conference dub of the season against the FIU Panthers (3-14, 0-4 C-USA), with set scores of 25-22, 20-25, 25-22, and 25-22. The Blue Raiders out blocked the Panthers in dominant fashion, 14 to four. Four Blue Raiders helped push the team by racking up double-digit kills and racking up a .338 kill percentage.

Senior Kaylee Oscarson led the way for the Blue Raiders with 11 kills (11-2-20) on a .450 hitting percentage to go along with seven total blocks. Senior Kayla Henley and junior Taylor Eisert racked up their seventh and sixth respective double-doubles of the season. Henley also tallied five total blocks to go along with the double-double.

By the Numbers
14: The 14 total blocks for the Blue Raiders was a team-season high, the previous high was 12 which had been reached twice this season.
105: Senior Marley Banton has reached the 105 career service aces mark, which ties her for first with Chelsea Ross on the 25-point rally scoring era list.
2000: Junior Taylor Eisert set up her 2000^th-career assist in today's match. She is just the third in the 25-point era to reach this feat, and the ninth in program history.

Blue Raider Notes

Freshman Adri Rhoda has 40 service aces on the season already, giving her sole possession of second place on the 25-point scoring era records list. She is four away from tying the current-record holder, Dora Peonia, with 44 in a single season.
Banton needs one more service ace to become the 25-point era record holder for career aces at 106.
