MTSU to continue play in the B Flight of the ITA Regional Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — As day two comes to an end, the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will remain in the B Flight of the ITA Regional Championships.
Sana Garakani and Noelle Mauro started the day off with their doubles match. The duo fell short against Dayton's Neena Katauskas and Natalie Osiecki.
The duo of Garakani and Mauro would move into the B Flight along with Love-Star Alexis and Rutuja Chaphalkar. The tandem of Garakani and Mauro took down Warona Mdlulwa and Franka Sindici of Tennessee State 8-3. Alexis and Chaphalkar would draw a bye. Both doubles teams will compete in the next round of double in B Flight.
The Blue Raiders had four players compete in the B Flight of singles on Thursday.
Alexis opened singles play in the B Flight and picked up a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Meredith Roberts (Belmont). Garakani picked up the second singles win of the day over Austin Peay's Lucy Lascheck. Lilly-Sophie Schmidt and Chaphalkar fell in their singles match. Alexis and Garakani will continue in the B draw of singles on Friday.
