Middle Tennessee Falls in Last Match of 2022
10/29/2022 9:05:00 PM | Women's Soccer
MIAMI – The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders were seeking a result in their last match of the season, a road tilt at the FIU Panthers. However, in the match between the 10th and 11th teams in Conference-USA, MTSU conceded a goal inside two minutes.
Panthers' Forward Brealyn Viamille opened the scoring in the 2' after FIU applied immediate, steady pressure to open the match.
Forward Nikole Solis doubled the FIU advantage after halftime in the 59', and Noemi Paquin would give the Panthers a three-goal lead in the 87th.
Blue Raider midfielders Manon Lebargy and Kirstine Lykke shared the team-high in shots with forward Emma Petterson, with the trio logging two shots each.
By the Numbers
4 – Attacking midfielder Lykke led the Raiders in goals this year, with four. Two of those goals tied matches with under 20 minutes to play (at Belmont and at Charlotte). The sophomore's eight points also equaled a team-high with Pettersen.
61 – Senior defender Caroline Manley played in her 61st career match on Saturday night, which represents each Blue Raider game since her freshman year. The Arlington, Tenn. native and three-year captain has also played 4,496 consecutive minutes across 49 matches dating back to late in the '19 campaign.
62 - Senior goalkeeper Hannah Suder finishes the season with 62 stops, and will conclude 2022 in the top 10 of several program goalkeeper carrer charts.
