"A great environment to start out the year and the season," head coach Nick McDevitt said after the game. "The 50-year anniversary of the building, the 100-year anniversary of our program, to have that many elementary-aged students from Rutherford County in here, I don't have to tell you guys anything, it was loud in there and the decibel level was really high."

Thanks to the 11 a.m. tipoff and fast pace of play, MTSU was the first team in the country to win an official game this season, making them ever so briefly the only undefeated team in the land (Baylor's win over Mississippi Valley State just under an hour later quickly pushed MTSU into a tie).

Football finally returns home for Salute to Veterans weekend
In ultimate November-in-college-athletics fashion, Rick Stockstill's press conference for this week's game against Charlotte was just 30 minutes before the Blue Raiders' tipped off in the Glass House. Coming off a tough loss to LA Tech on the road, MTSU returns home for its annual Salute to Veterans game against Charlotte. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on ESPN3.
The 49ers have had a rough go of it in 2022, falling to 2-8 after losing 59-7 at home to WKU last weekend. Head Coach Will Healy was relieved of his duties following a 34-15 defeat to FIU at home two weeks prior, the game that officially put the 49ers out of bowl contention. Interim Head Coach Pete Rossomando has picked up a win in his two-game tenure, however, upsetting Rice 56-23 on the road in his first game at the helm.
"The focus really this week, every coach says it, I say it, but it's about us. We've got to worry with us and fix ourselves," Rick Stockstill said. "They had 17 explosive plays against us last year. So we've got some work to do, we've got to make sure we have a great week of practice in preparation for these guys."
The annual Salute to Veterans' game will feature plenty of chances to honor our nation's armed forces throughout the game, as well as on the MTSU uniforms. Stay tuned for more information on what MTSU Equipment has planned for this year later this week.
"We have a nice tradition here," defensive end Jordan Ferguson said of the game. "You get to have fighter jets fly over before the game, have people in uniform out there, you've got tanks out (with the fans). It's good for the fans to see that, for our little ones to see that. I can't wait to see what the equipment staff has going, because I don't even know. I don't want to spoil the surprise."
Radio Broadcast plans for Saturday
With football kicking off against Charlotte at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, men's basketball tipping off against Winthrop on the road at 3 p.m. on Saturday and women's basketball taking on Southern Illinois at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Blue Raider fans will have to keep that radio dial handy to follow all of the action.

Guess who's C-USA Volleyball's Freshman of the Week again? That's right, Adri Rhoda!
For the sixth time in the 2022 season, Blue Raider freshman Adri Rhoda was honored by the Conference USA office with its Freshman of the Week award. Among Freshman in C-USA last week, Rhoda ranked first in kills (20), kills/set (3.33), points (25.5), and points/set (4.25).
Her sixth award ties her with Charlotte's Emani' Foster (2020-21) for second most Freshman of the Week honors. If Rhoda takes home her seventh honor this coming week, the final week of the regular season, Rhoda would tie WKU's Paige Briggs (2019) for the most Freshman of the Week awards in C-USA history.
It's @adrianarhoda's 🌎, we're just living in it.

Rhoda earned her 𝐒𝐈𝐗𝐓𝐇 Freshman of the Week honor of the season from @ConferenceUSA, becoming just 𝟭 𝗼𝗳 𝟯 in C-USA history to do so.
