BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Middle Tennessee men's tennis (9-3, 1-0) sweeps Indiana (3-3) 4-0 inside the IU Tennis Center and a packed house on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, the Blue Raiders move to 9-3 on the season and 3-2 against power 5 opponents. "This was a great team win over a solid Big Ten team in a tough environment," Head Coach Jimmy Borendame said. "They brought the energy and the crowd against us. Credit to the guys for handling adversity today. We will get after it this week and work on a few things."

In doubles, Oskar Brostrom Poulsen and Conference USA Athlete of the Week Francisco Rocha finished first on the top court, winning 6-2. Senior Stijn Slump and Pavel Motl clinched for another MT 6-2 win on court No. 2.

The Blue Raiders carried momentum into singles winning five of six first sets over the Hoosiers. Graduate Student Chris Edge continued his dominance with a two-set 6-2, 6-4 win on court No. 3 to put MT up two. His partner on the doubles court Stepan Holis pushed the lead to three with a 6-2, 6-3 finish on court No. 4.

#61 Slump clinched the match at 4-0 with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) exciting finisher on the Blue Raider top court. He has now won two-straight matches against his power 5 adversaries across the net.

Next Up
Middle Tennessee will return home to prepare for Auburn on Friday, Feb. 18 at 5:00 p.m. CT. This will be the fourth P5 opponent MT will host inside the ATC and the second Southeastern Conference opponent faced this season. The Blue Raiders suffered a 2-5 loss to No. 21 Mississippi State earlier this season.
