Blue Raiders slip to 12th in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Middle Tennessee finished the second round of the Florida State Match-Up in 12th place Saturday at 616 (+40). The Blue Raiders improved upon Friday's team score, carding a 307 (+19) after a 309 (+21 in the opening round.
"We got a little better in some areas today, and Caroline had another solid round to put her in the top 20," head coach Chris Adams said. "Since it's our first event of the spring, we're just trying to find some consistencies in our ball striking and putting, as well as gaining confidence every round. We have another day tomorrow to get better and keep improving our team score
Caroline Caudill led the Blue Raiders with a 75 (+3) after birdieing her final hole of the day. She finished the day in a tie for 17th at 148 (+4).
Sophie Burks ended the round in a tie for 46th at 155 (+11). Molly Bebelaar and Madison Smith wrapped up Saturday's action in a tie for 58th at 158 (+14).
Catherine Caudill rounded out the MT lineup at 162 (+18), good for a tie for 66th. Her day was highlighted by an eagle on hole 10, her second hole of the day. Abbie Lee, playing as an individual in her first collegiate event, ended the round in a tie for 64th at 161 (+17)
The Blue Raiders finished the day 45 strokes off the lead in a field featuring eight teams ranked in the top 50 by Golfstat.
Tee times for the final round of the Florida State Match-Up begin at 7:30 a.m. CT Sunday.
