New glass replacement underway at Murphy Center

MURFREESBORO – Fans coming to Murphy Center for basketball games or any other event need to be aware of new construction taking place on the upper south side of the arena. Entry will not be allowed on the south portion of Murphy Center for safety reasons.
The north entrances, closest to the Greenland Drive parking lot, will not be affected by this construction during the remainder of the 2021-22 basketball season.
The University, as part of the Build Blue campaign, is replacing all of the antiquated glass with a more modern system. The new Sage Glass system will offer a better appearance while providing automatic dimming for glare control. It will allow the benefits of natural light without aesthetic limitations of blinds, shades or curtains.
The women's basketball team will host UAB this Saturday at 5 PM and the men will return to the Murphy Center on Monday to face UTSA at 6 PM.
The project is expected to be completed August 2022.
