Blue Raiders tie for 13th at Chattanooga Classic

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee women's golf replicated its second-round performance Tuesday with a third-round 300 (+12) to finish the three-day event with a score of 911 (+47) at Council Fire Golf Club. The Blue Raiders tied for 13th out of 20 teams on the par-72, 6,234-yard course.
Caroline Caudill led MT with a third-round score of 73 (+1), notching birdies on two of her final six holes of the day to finish the event in a tie for 36th at 224 (+8). The elder Caudill sister carded her second 73 of the tournament, tying her first round and Molly Bebelaar's second as MT's lowest of the tournament.
"We got better each day with our team total and again had some really good rounds from everyone," head coach Chris Adams said. "We are just searching for some consistency in our scoring. Caroline had another really steady tournament finish."
Madison Smith ended the event with a 54-hole score of 228 (+12), tying for 51st. She recorded three birdies on the day but finished the round at 77 (+5).
Catherine Caudill moved up from a tie for 36th to a tie for 58th at 231 (+15) after shooting a 74 (+2) on Tuesday.
Sophie Burks recorded a 76 (+4) Tuesday to end the event in a tie for 67th at 233 (+17). Molly Bebelaar tied for 76th at 236 (+2) after finishing the event with a 79 (+7).
"We've got a quick turnaround before we head to San Antonio this week," Adams said, "so we will put in a couple of good days of practice to get ready."
UTSA won the team title at 869 (+5). Duke's Anne Chen, playing as an individual, won the individual title at 207 (-9).
MT's next action will come April 5-6 at UTSA's Maryb S. Kauth Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
