Blue Raiders make short trip to Franklin for Mason Rudolph Championship

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Blue Raider men's golf makes its closest appearance to Murfreesboro of the season this weekend as it takes part in the Mason Rudolph Championship, hosted by Vanderbilt at its home course, the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin. Middle Tennessee will be one of 16 teams competing on the par-71, 7,100-yard course this weekend.
The Blue Raiders got off to a strong start to the spring slate, claiming team titles in each of their first two tournaments. Kevin Jegers has won the individual crown in both events, setting the program record for the lowest individual 54-hole score on both occasions.
Play starts with tee times between 7:30 a.m. and 12:38 p.m. CT Friday and Saturday and between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.. Sunday, with 18 holes played each day. The Blue Raiders' tee times will begin at 11:05 Friday on the 10th tee.
WEATHER
The weekend forecast for Franklin as of Thursday calls for highs in the 50s and 60s with a minimal chance of rain. Sunday's third round appears to be ticketed for clear skies and a high of 66 degrees.
NOTES
- In addition to its two wins, Middle Tennessee has finished in the top five as a team five times in seven tournaments this season.
- Jegers' two wins are the first of his collegiate career. He was named Conference USA Player of the Week after each victory.
- Michael Barnard leads the Blue Raiders with a stroke average of 71.33 this season.
- Middle Tennessee enters the tournament ranked No. 80 as a team by Golfweek and No. 89 by Golfstat.
- The 16-team field at the Mason Rudolph Championship features three top-25 teams in the Golfstat rankings (No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 15 Auburn and No. 20 Tennessee) and 11 top-100 teams.
