Blue Demons Best the Blue Raiders in Chicago

CHICAGO – Middle Tennessee women's tennis (9-9, 1-3) falls to DePaul (5-4, 2-0) on Sunday evening inside the XS Tennis Village.
The Blue Raiders dropped two doubles courts giving the Blue Demons the doubles point. Lee Barnard and Noelle Mauro won on court No. 2 at 6-4.
In singles, DePaul took five of six first sets over Middle Tennessee.
L. Barnard dropped her match first in two sets to Marija Jovicic at 6-3, 6-2.
Marietta, Ga. native Mauro got the Blue Raiders on the board with a two-set 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) triumph on court No. 5. She left today's match with two individual victories, winning in doubles and singles competition.
The Blue Deamons took a 3-1 advantage after defeating Zani Barnard on court three.
MT would surge off a late rally from Lilly-Sophie Schmidt and Love-Star Alexis, both Blue Raiders earned three-set wins on their courts to tie the match at three.
Junior Muskan Gupta battled until the final serve, but ultimately dropping her match in three sets to Lenka Antonijevic at 7-6 (7-2), 2-6, 6-4 to give DePaul the win.
Next Up
The Blue Raiders will head to New Orleans next to take on Tulane and South Florida next week.
