HUNTINGTON, W.Va – Middle Tennessee women's tennis (9-12, 1-4) competed against Marshall and Cincinnati this weekend, falling to the Thundering Herd 6-1 on Friday and dropping a match against the Bearcats at 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Raiders move to 9-12 on the season with the losses this weekend and have dropped five-straight matches.

Senior Zani Barnard picked up the only Blue Raider point in both performances, the Midstream, South Africa native won both matches in straight sets against Marshall and UC. Zani defeated Jutte Van Hansewyck of Marshall at 6-4, 6-2 on Friday and one day later defeated Maria Santilli in a solid 6-2, 6-2 performance.

With the wins, Zani moves to 11-8 on the season and now leads MT in singles wins on the season.

Middle Tennessee will have a week off competition before taking on Conference USA foe Western Kentucky on the road on Saturday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the WKU Tennis Complex.
