Mealer, Harvey earn C-USA postseason honors

DALLAS - After a pair of impressive freshman campaigns at Middle Tennessee, Laura Mealer was named All-Conference USA Second Team, while Mealer and fellow freshman Anyce Harvey were both recognized to the C-USA All-Freshman Team, announced by the league office on Tuesday.
The conference honor marks the first for both Mealer and Harvey.
Mealer is the first Blue Raider freshman since the 2007 season to lead Middle Tennessee in batting average and ranks second among all C-USA freshman in batting average (.350) and tied for second in hits (57).
She has played in and started all 53 contests for the Blue Raiders this past season. She leads the Blue Raiders in batting average (.350), slugging percentage (.607), on-base percentage (.427), hits (57), runs (34), home runs (10), triples (2), and tied for the team lead in RBI (28), and stolen bases (9), while also ranking third on the team in doubles (8). Mealer batted a career-best 4-for-4, tying a career-best two runs, and hit a home run against Charlotte (April 14). She also knocked in a career-best three RBIs twice this season against Mississippi State (March 30) and at FIU (April 8). Mealer also leads the Blue Raiders with 16 games with two or more hits and is the only Blue Raider to record four games with three hits.
In Conference USA, Mealer ranks tied for sixth in total bases (99), tied for sixth in hits (57), and tied for ninth in home runs (10). Nationally, Mealer ranks tied for 102nd in total bases, 117th in hits, and 162nd in home runs.
Anyce Harvey has also been a huge asset to the Blue Raiders this season. Harvey has played in 42 and started 40 games for the Blue Raiders during the 2022 campaign. She leads the team in doubles (11) and is tied for the team lead in RBI (28), while ranking second on the Blue Raiders in batting average (.326), slugging (.470), and is tied for second in home runs (2), and triples (1). Harvey recorded three hits in three contests this season, following just behind Mealer on the team. She connected on a career-best four RBI and tied a career-best two runs scored against Georgetown (March 4). She also leads the Blue Raiders with nine multi-RBI games this season, including a team-best seven two-RBI games and is the only Blue Raider with a four-RBI game.
Harvey ranks tied for second in C-USA and ranks tied for 129th nationally in doubles per game (0.26).
