Blue Raider Softball adds Murray State transfer Kamryn Carcich

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Softball head coach Jeff Breeden announces the addition of junior transfer Kamryn Carcich on Friday.
Carcich, a native of Ocean Springs, Mississippi joins the Blue Raiders from Murray State, where she played her first two collegiate seasons for the Racers.
"We look for Kamryn to bring a competitive spirit to our bullpen," expressed head coach Jeff Breeden. "She brings a mature presence to our young staff. We are very glad to have her as a Blue Raider."
This past season, Carcich competed in 30 games and made 21 starts for the Racers. She batted .200 with nine hits, including tying for second of the team with two triples and a pair of doubles, along with six RBIs and three runs scored. In the circle, Carcich posted a 3-2 record over 14 appearances and seven starts. She posted a team third-best 1.98 ERA with 35.1 innings pitched and throwing 29 strikeouts. On February 12, Carcich went 1-for-2 with a double and career-high three RBI against Ball State. In the circle, Carcich pitched a season-best five innings and recorded a career-high nine strikeouts against Loyola Chicago, which pitching another pair of five-inning games against St. Thomas (MN) and UTEP, allowing just one hit in both contests.
During her freshman campaign, Carcich played in 32 contests and made 25 starts for Murray State. She batted .265 with eight RBI and eight runs scored. Carcich slugged for .397 and posted a .329 on-base percentage. On the basepaths, Carcich went a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen bases. She also made eight appearances in the circle, striking out five over 14 innings of work.
Before her time in Murray, Kentucky, Carcich was a dual-sport athlete at St. Martin High School, playing softball and volleyball. Carcich was a three-time Mississippi All-Star with the Yellow Jackets. She hit for .431 with 51 extra-base hits. In the circle, Carcich recorded 264 strikeouts and posted a 3.13 ERA during her high school career.
Carcich is the fifth Blue Raider signee of the 2022 signing class, joining Ansley Blevins, Paige Connors, Julia Garcia, and Lexi Medlock.
