Blue Raiders set to host MTSU Invitational

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's tennis is home for the first and only time in the fall 2022 season as the Blue Raiders host the MTSU Invitational on Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the Adams Tennis Complex.
The tournament will be hidden duals consisting of matches in singles and doubles in a format with a similar style to a spring collegiate dual match. No team scores will be recorded, but matches count for each individual player and doubles team's rankings.
Muskan Gupta leads the Blue Raiders this fall with a 3-0 record in singles. Blue Raider fans will be able to see these freshmen in action in Murfreesboro for the first time this weekend: Camila Barragan, Rutuja Chaphalkar, Sana Garakani, Cara Szilasi and Karen Yibirin.
Five teams are competing along with MTSU in Murfreesboro this weekend: Ball State, Bellarmine, Chattanooga, Lipscomb, North Alabama and Western Kentucky.

"We are looking forward to a weekend full of matches. After last weekend's results, we hit the practice court to sharpen a few areas in preparation for this weekend. I expect there will be some close, challenging matches, allowing for our girls to continue to find growth and confidence in their games. I am especially looking forward to our freshmen performances and mindsets. This should be a great weekend for us."
