MURFREESBORO, Tenn—Baseball season is right around the corner and a 16-game homestand within the first two months of the season highlights the 2023 Middle Tennessee baseball schedule, announced Wednesday.
A 55-game regular season includes 29 games at Reese Smith Jr. Field, the most since the 2018 season, and 26 on the road.
Season tickets are available for purchase at bit.ly/3WQG43R with various pricing options and availability. Reserved chairback seats are $50, single bleacher seats are $50 and Bleacher Family Pass, which includes four people, is only $65.
"We are looking forward to the challenge of our 2023 schedule," head coach Jerry Meyers said. There is a good blend of highly competitive non-conference opponents to go with another strong C-USA slate. We will open up February 17 at Coastal Carolina and will have 29 home games throughout the regular season. Our Blue Raider fans are awesome and we hope to see them at Reese Smith, Jr. Field as much as possible."
After opening the season with three games in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Feb. 17-19, the Blue Raiders won't leave Reese Smith Jr. Field again until March 21. The home stretch begins with SEMO Feb. 21 and includes opponents such as St. Bonaventure, Belmont, Toledo, Evansville and starting Conference USA play vs. WKU March 17.
Twelve of the next 15 games will take place on the road in six different states to end March and through the first half of April. Weekend series vs. Rice and Louisiana Tech at the Reese and road in-state midweek games vs. Lipscomb and Belmont cap off the month of April.
The Blue Raiders will pack their bags once again for all but three games in May with the home portion of the schedule concluding May 12-14 vs. UAB. The 2023 Conference USA Championship will take place May 24-28 in Houston, TX.
After a 29-26 finish to the 2022 season, the Blue Raiders won their most games since 2015, won seven of 10 conference series and made the Conference USA Baseball championship for the second consecutive year.
Meyers welcomed in associate head coach in Kevin Nichols, assistant coach Jason Stein and volunteer assistant coach Mark DiLuia this offseason.
