Blue Raiders fall to UIC

NASSAU, Bahamas — Middle Tennessee men's basketball on Friday lost its opening game of the Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship to UIC by a score of 70-40.
The Blue Raiders (3-3) started strong, jumping out to a 7-2 lead. MTSU held the Flames (4-1) to 1-of-9 from 3-point range over the first 16 minutes of the game. UIC made four straight 3-pointers to close the first half and was 6 for its last 10 attempts of the game.
Justin Bufford scored nine of MTSU's first 11 points and seven of the game's first nine to help his team jump out to its early lead. He and Elias King tied for the team lead with nine points each. King's eight rebounds equaled the game high.
