Middle Tennessee set to host 10th annual Education Day game
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee women's basketball will take on Florida A&M at home Thursday morning for its 10th annual Education Day. Tipoff is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Murphy Center. The game will air on the Blue Raider Network and be streamed on ESPN+.

» Currently sitting at 999 wins, Middle Tennessee will soon join an elite list of women's basketball programs in the nation to secure 1,000 wins. The Lady Raiders will become just the 25th team in NCAA Division I history to eclipse the 1,000-win milestone.
» Education Day returns to the Glass House for the 10th time. The Lady Raiders will welcome over 3,500 students from Murfreesboro City Schools to the Murphy Center.
» Middle Tennessee is 8-1 in Education Day games played at the Glass House since the event began in 2012.
» The 2023-24 roster boasts seven international players: Jada Grannum (Canada); Dora Van Rijs (Hungary); Anastasiia Boldyreva, Iullia Grabovskaia and Stanislava Kabernick (Russia); Sifa Ineza (Rwanda); Zahira Arizmendi (Spain). Entering this season the Lady Raiders have only had 10 international players in program history.
» Alongside South Carolina, MTSU is one of just two teams in the nation to finish the regular season with a perfect record at home in each of the last two seasons.
» Head Coach Rick Insell has led the Lady Raiders to 17 consecutive post-seasons. He has tallied a 434-151 record at his alma mater.
Scouting the Rattlers
» The Rattlers are coming off of a 64-93 loss to the Lady Vols.
» Florida A&M Head Coach Bridgette Gordon is in her first season at the helm of the Ratlers women's basketball program.
» The Rattlers return five players: Peryonna Sylvester, Skylar Baltezegar, Ahriahna Grizzle, Ivet Subirats, and Eliya Ellis.
» Florida A&M welcomes 10 newcomers: Nashani Gilbert, Aina Subirats, Sydney Hendrix, Jaliya Sharp, Hailee Brennen, Morgan Cyiark, Raygen Bostick, Anabel Latorre, Olivia Delancy, and Nya Bostic.
» Ahriahna Grizzle was named Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Preseason All-SWAC Second Team. Grizzle is the Rattlers returning leading scorer after averaging 10.9 PPG in 2022-23. She also led the Rattlers in assists (3.7 APG), steals (2.3 SPG), and free throw percentage (82.4%).
