Men’s Tennis prepares for Blue Gray Championships

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — No. 25-ranked Middle Tennessee men's tennis heads to Montgomery, Ala. to compete in the 75th annual Blue Gray Annual National Tennis Classic on Friday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Lagoon Park Tennis Complex and O'Conner Tennis Center. Last year, the Blue Raiders won the Blue Gray Championships defeating Tulane, Arizona and Princeton.
MTSU (10-3, 1-0 CUSA) drew Tulane (2-3, 0-0 AAC) to open the tournament, this dual match will take place on Friday, Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. CT.
To finish the first day of competition, the Blue Raiders will start its second match against either No. 44 Texas Tech or No. 36 Auburn and will compete in doubles only.
On Saturday, MTSU will wrap up their second match by competing in singles against the Red Raiders or Tigers from the day before. To round out the tournament, the Blue Raiders will take on an opponent from the other side of the bracket for a full dual match on Saturday afternoon.
The 2023 field for the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic consists of No. 14 Arizona, No. 25 Middle Tennessee, No. 36 Auburn, No. 38 Alabama, Nebraska, No. 41 Oklahoma, No. 44 Texas Tech and Tulane.
The new Intercollegiate Tennis Association individual rankings were released on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
