Four Blue Raiders honored in C-USA All-Conference Awards

DALLAS – Conference USA has announced its 2022-23 Men's Basketball All-Conference selections, with four Middle Tennessee players among the honorees. Eli Lawrence was named Second Team All-Conference, Teafale Lenard Jr., earned All-Defensive Team recognition, and Lenard, DeAndre Dishman and Camryn Weston were named Honorable Mention All-C-USA.
Lawrence is 14th in the league in scoring at 12.3 points per game, 12th in 3-point field goals per game with 1.7, and 18th in steals with 1.1 per game. The Blue Raiders' leading scorer, Lawrence has started every game this year and reached the 1,000-point mark for his career earlier this season.
Lenard has been one of the most effective defenders in the country this season. His 11 games with multiple steals and multiple blocked shots are the most of any player in Division I. He is second in the conference with 1.94 blocked shots per game and eighth in steals with 1.6 per game. His 60 blocks are fourth-most by a Blue Raider in a season, passing his 2021-22 total of 58. The Snyder, Texas, native is the first Blue Raider to be named to the All-Defensive team since 2018.
Dishman has also started every game this season and is in the top 20 in the conference in rebounding, steals and blocks. Weston is 14th in the league with 2.7 assists per game and 21st in rebounding at 4.6. Dishman, Lenard and Weston give Middle Tennessee its most Honorable Mention All-Conference honorees in program history.
The Blue Raiders begin their C-USA Tournament run Thursday as the No. 4 seed, taking on No. 5 Charlotte at 6 p.m. at The Star in Frisco, Texas. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
