Stijn Slump and Francisco Rocha both earned ranked wins during singles play, with No. 74 Slump's 6-4, 6-3 win over No. 67 Charles Bertimon clinching the match on court 1.

"VCU is a very loud and feisty team," Head Coach Jimmy Borendame said after the match. "It showed up in the doubles. The doubles point was real solid. I was excited to see Marcel get back in the doubles and play like he did.
"It was a beautiful day out. We got a good crowd. Thanks to all the people who came out and supported. To win five out of six singles against No. 30 VCU was solid in our first outside match at ATC. I am excited."

With the team off for Easter weekend, the Blue Raiders will host Tennessee Tech and UT Southern to wrap up the home season on Friday, April 14.
Women's Tennis picks up huge rivalry win over WKU
Middle Tennessee women's tennis extended its perfect home record unblemished on Friday, winning a dramatic match against Western Kentucky 4-3 to pick up their first Conference USA win of the season (in only two tries, because tennis schedules are weird. The men's team will only play one C-USA opponent the whole season before the conference tournament!).
Love-Star Alexis, fresh off an Athlete of the Week honor from the Conference USA office, clinched the match on Court 1, 7-6 (3), 7-5 to earn MTSU's final point, avenging last season's 4-3 loss in Bowling Green.

"We have a really good crowd cheering us on," Alexis said. "We have one more home match and hope to have an undefeated season at home."
"Last year, we lost 4-3 against WKU and we lost the doubles point. When we lost the doubles point today, we knew we always have at least four that can fight. It was good to see we were resistant enough to win."
MTSU women's tennis will also take the weekend off for Easter and travel to UAB next weekend for the penultimate match of the regular season.

Relive the walk-off walk with MTSU Baseball
Sunday's series sweep for baseball doesn't get much more dramatic than a walk-off after a four-run comeback in the final frame, even if that walk-off came courtesy of a bases-loaded walk!
Relive the field level highlights from the 13-12 win in our recap video below!

Spring practice continues for Blue Raider Football
It's always nice to walk out over the practice field on a breezy spring day and see the Blue Raiders at work on the gridiron. I really enjoyed hearing from defensive coordinator Scott Shafer after practice earlier this spring on the work that goes into identifying leaders across the team, a critical task on a roster that lost all five of its captains from a season ago.
Developing leaders starts with these spring practices according to @Coach_Shafer.#BLUEnited | #EATT pic.twitter.com/G0g9ooTaqj

New defensive end Brandon Buckner, who comes to Murfreesboro by way of the Oregon Ducks, walked us through his day during spring practice. I enjoyed the cameo of Peck Hall the most in this mic'd up day-in-the-life look at Buckner.

And in the most fun news of the week, the Hawai'i Bowl Championship rings came in this week for the Blue Raiders! And our friends on the CFB Sickos Committee, along with seemingly every Florida State Seminole fan left on Twitter, caught the surprise on side of the ring.
