Akintola named C-USA Track Performer of the Meet

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Conference USA announced the Track and Field Performers of the meet following the championships held in Denton, Texas on May 11-14. Alaba Akintola earned Male Track Performer of the Meet.
Akintola has now earned both the Indoor and Outdoor C-USA Male Track Athlete of the Meet this season.
Akintola ran in both the 100-meter and 200-meter events at the C-USA Championships. He ran a time of 10.05s just shy of his best time of 10.04s. He also finished first in the 200-meter final where he ran a 20.43s. His marks in the 100-meter and 200-meter currently rank at No. 8 and No. 12 nationally.
The senior from Ondo, Nigeria will compete in the NCAA East Preliminaries next starting May 24-27 in Jacksonville, Florida.
What's next for the Blue Raiders?
The NCAA East Preliminaries will begin May 24-27 with four Blue Raiders competing. Akintola will joined by Stephen Eloji, Carmelo Cannizzaro and Esther Isa.
