Blue Raiders Fall in Bowling Green
9/14/2023 10:20:00 PM | Women's Soccer
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Middle Tennessee Soccer conceded three first half goals at the WKU Soccer Complex and fell to the WKU Hilltoppers 3-0 Thursday night.
The Hilltoppers drew first blood in the 13' after drawing five corner kicks in the match's opening stretch.
WKU doubled its early lead in the 28', before converting a penalty pick in the 35' off a corner.
The teams were scoreless after halftime.
Rhoden's Roundup
"This was a tough road loss for us, especially given how we played the entire second half. We made some poor mistakes early in the game which WKU was able to capitalize on. Despite a strong second half performance, we were not able to reduce the first half deficit. We have to put this game behind us and shift our focus to our road match against Tennessee Tech on Sunday.
By the Numbers
5: Goalkeeper Hannah Suder's five saves matched a season-high.
3: MTSU outshot the Hilltoppers 3-1 in the second half.
2: Yana Yordanova's two shots on goal were a team-high Thursday night.
2: Caroline Manley and Kaitlyn Butcher joined Suder in playing the full 90 minutes.
0: WKU did not win a corner after halftime.
