Blue Raiders set for Bearcat Invitational

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee men's golf heads to Cincinnati for the Bearcat Invitational this week. The tournament will be played Monday and Tuesday at Coldstream Country Club with live scoring through Golfstat.
MTSU features defending Conference USA Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference Owen Stamper, Second Team All-C-USA honoree Michael Barnard, Third Team selection Kevin Jegers, C-USA Freshman of the Year and All-Freshman selection Markus Varjun and All-Freshman selection Carter Maneth.
Stamper is coming off a first place finish in the Argent Financial Classic to open the season, setting a new career low with a score of 203 (-13). Gavin Clements also set a career low of 212 (-4), while Michael Barnard joined him in the top 10 with a score of 210 (-6).
This is MTSU's first trip to Cincinnati since the 2019-20 season.
WEATHER FORECAST
The forecast for the tournament shows highs in the upper 70s with a minimal chance of rain each day.

- The Blue Raiders finished last season ranked No. 66 in the final Golfstat rankings.
- Stamper finished 2022-23 ranked No. 166 in the country by Golfweek rankings.
- MTSU brings back its entire roster from the end of the 2022-23 season, with the addition of freshman Joseph Agee.
- Markus Varjun will make his first appearance of the season, taking the fifth spot in the lineup.
- Stamper is the defending CUSA Player of the Week for his victorious efforts in Lousiana. Stamper, Varjun and Barnard last season combined for six Conference USA Player of the Week awards, the most in a season since MTSU joined the league.
