Blue Raiders top Kent State in three on Sunday

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Middle Tennessee volleyball capped off play at the Fryfest Invitational on Saturday, September 2 at Xtream Arena with a match against Kent State. The Blue Raiders swept the Golden Flash in three sets.
The Blue Raiders (2-3, 0-0 CUSA) defeated the Kent State Golden Flashes (1-5, 0-0 MAC) with set scores 26-24, 25-18 and 25-16. MTSU leaves Iowa with two wins and a second-place finish in the Fryfest Invitational. The Blue Raider have won six sets in a row.
Graduate student Kayla Henley had a team-high 16 kills on a .696 hitting percentage. The Little River, S.C. set a new career-high in service aces with 6. Henley's percentage ranked eighth in the 25-point era and her six aces ranks third in the 25-point era in school history. Graduate student Kaylee Oscarson added 11 kills on a .529 hitting percentage. Senior Taylor Eisert added 46 assists averaging 15.3 per set.
