Sargent, Echols and Harvey named CUSA Preseason All-Conference Team

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Conference USA has announced the 2024 Preseason All-Conference Team and the predicted order of finish as voted by the leagues' coaches. Senior Shelby Sargent, Senior Shelby Echols and Junior Anyce Harvey were tabbed to the preseason team and the Blue Raiders were picked third in the conference behind Liberty and WKU.
Sargent was named the CUSA Championship Tournament MVP last year after setting a new tournament record of six doubles and 17 total bases. The Murfreesboro, Tenn. native set single-season career highs in hits, RBI, batting average and on-base percentage in 2023. Sargent and Echols both tied the league lead with five triples.
Echols earned All-Conference USA Second team in 2023. She was a CUSA Player of the Week honoree and NFCA All-Region Team selection. The Pearland, Texas Native ranks seventh in single season stolen bases in program history with 28 and the second most in a single game with four against Georgetown (March 4).
Harvey rounds out the third selection for the Blue Raiders in the CUSA Preseason All-Conference Team. She was named to the CUSA Championship All-Tournament team in 2023 with three RBI against WKU (May 11).
