Lady Raiders rout Panthers 92-62

Middle Tennessee remains unbeaten in league play
MIAMI, Fla. – Thanks to red-hot shooting from long range, Middle Tennessee defeated FIU 92-62 on Saturday afternoon at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
After trading baskets to open the game, the Lady Raiders (16-4, 6-0 CUSA) used a 16-2 run to take a 14-point lead over the Panthers (14-6, 5-1 CUSA) at the first media break. MTSU continued to hit shots from range early, shooting 80 percent from beyond the arc in the first quarter to take a 35-12 lead into the second. The Lady Raiders' hot hands followed into the second period. Despite FIU finding some rhythm late in the quarter, Middle Tennessee took a 52-33 lead into the half.
Coming out of the locker room, the Lady Raiders began to attack the paint and grew their lead to 29 midway through the third. MTSU took a 73-51 lead into the final quarter. The Lady Raiders continued to thrive offensively and shut the Panthers offense down in the fourth and MTSU would go on to win 92-62
Savannah Wheeler and Ta'Mia Scott each posted double-doubles and led all scorers on the afternoon. Scott posted a career-high 26 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high three blocks, while Wheeler tallied 26 points and 11 boards. They were followed by Jalynn Gregory with 14 points, six rebounds and five assists, Courtney Whitson with 12 points and eight boards, and Anastasiia Boldyreva with 10 points, six rebounds and three blocks.
By the Numbers  
60: The Lady Raiders shot 60 percent from the field on the afternoon, including 63 percent from beyond the arc.
9: Middle Tennessee registered nine blocks on the evening, which totals 19 over the previous two games.
40-29: MTSU outrebounded FIU 40-29 on the afternoon. The Panthers came into the game averaging 41.2 boards a game.
Lady Raider Notes  
• Two Lady Raiders have scored 20 or more points in consecutive games. 
• Five Lady Raiders scored in doubles figures on the afternoon. This marks the third time this season five or more players have tallied double figures.
• With a pair of double-doubles, MTSU has had 13 total on the season

The Lady Raiders return to Murfreesboro for a trio of games, beginning with a matchup against the WKU Hilltoppers on Saturday, Feb. 2. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. CT and the game will broadcast on ESPN+.
