MURFREESBORO - In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, MTSU Athletics is stepping up to support relief efforts for affected communities.
The Blue Raiders will be collecting donations to assist families in Marshall, North Carolina, hometown of Head Men's Basketball Coach Nick McDevitt, and Asheville, North Carolina, hometown of Men's Basketball Director of Operations Robert Burlingham.
Beginning this weekend, donations of essential items will be accepted at all MTSU Athletics home events. All donations will be transported to Asheville and Marshall, two communities significantly impacted by the storm, in the coming weeks.
"We are committed to standing by our coaches and their communities during this difficult time," said Chris Massaro Director of Athletics. "This effort allows the Blue Raider community to offer direct support to the hometowns of two of our own, Coach McDevitt and Coach Burlingham. Every contribution will make a difference in helping their communities rebuild."
