Al-Amin, Horak Advance to Doubles Final at ITA Regionals

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Blue Raiders Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak advanced to the main draw doubles final after completing an a three-set, 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 win over Vanderbilt's Hugo Coquelin and Henry Ruger in today's semifinal.
Al-Amin and Horak continue their run into the final, where they will face Alejandro Moreno and Alex Kotzen at 9 A.M. tomorrow morning.
Following a pair of wins in the second round and round of 16, Al-Amin and Jakub Kroslak featured in the main draw singles quarterfinal today for a chance to clinch a place in the semifinals. Al-Amin took care of business against Vanderbilt's Ruger in a straight-set, 6-2, 6-4 win. Kroslak's run came to an end with a 7-6, 6-4 loss to Kotzen of Tennessee.
In the singles semifinals, Al-Amin faced Kotzen, a match that was forced into a third-set tiebreaker. The match went down to the final point, and after an intense third-set battle, Al-Amin fell 7-6 to end his run in the singles bracket.
The ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships from West Lafayette, Ind. will conclude tomorrow, starting with the doubles final at 9 A.M.
