Middle Tennessee Continues Homestand Against Kennesaw State on Sunday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. –The Middle Tennessee women's soccer team (5-7-0, 2-2-0 CUSA) is set to continue its latest three-match homestand tomorrow against the Kennesaw State Owls (2-6-4, 1-0-3 CUSA) at Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium.
History vs. Kennesaw State
The Blue Raiders face Kennesaw State for just the second time in program history on Sunday in Murfreesboro. The Blue Raiders defeated Kennesaw State 1-0 in their lone previous meeting back in 2017 at Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium.

The Blue Raiders are coming off a 3-0 win, the team's third clean sheet of the season, over Jacksonville State in Murfreesboro on Oct. 3.
The win Thursday night improved the Blue Raiders to 2-2 in conference play and moves them up to sixth in the Conference USA standings.
Junior forward Taijah Fraser opened the scoring tonight for Middle Tennessee, coming off an assist from defender Emma Brown with her first goal of the season in the 33rd minute to give the home side a 1-0 advantage with just over 10 minutes until the halftime break.
Once again set up by Brown, leading goalscorer and star midfielder Manon Lebargy doubled the Blue Raider lead less than four minutes later for her eighth goal of 2024, tying her for the conference lead.
Middle Tennessee would control a 2-0 lead heading into halftime, looking to capitalize on another multi-goal advantage after the opening 45 minutes.
Idun Kvaale continued her recent run of good form with another goal tonight in the 58th minute, her fifth of the year, to extend the Blue Raiders advantage to 3-0 with just over 30 minutes to play.
Middle Tennessee shot-stopper Demi Gronauer recorded a pair of saves in the second half to keep the clean sheet for the home side, including a save in the 68th minute, coming off a shot from the Gamecocks' Melissa Kuya-Strobel.
The final 20 minutes of gametime would play out rather quietly in the scoring department, as the Blue Raiders would see out a 3-0 victory at home over Jacksonville State to improve to 5-7 on the season and claim their second win in their last three outings.
The Blue Raiders ended the 90 minutes with three goals on 11 total attempts, including six on target. Fraser, Lebargy and Kvaale were the goalscorers tonight, with Brown picking up a pair of assists along with Lebargy assisting on the third and final goal of the night.
On the defensive side, MTSU and Gronauer, who picked up five more saves to extend her conference lead, would record their third clean sheet of the 2024 season tonight in Murfreesboro.
