Al-Amin Named CUSA Athlete of the Month

DALLAS, Texas – Middle Tennessee junior Karim Al-Amin has been named CUSA Athlete of the Month for the month of October, per the release from the conference office on Tuesday.
In his lone tournament in October for the Blue Raiders, Al-Amin claimed the doubles title in the main draw at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in West Lafayette, Ind. Al-Amin and Horak won five doubles matches on their way to the championship matchup, defeating Tennessee's Alex Kotzen and Alejandro Moreno 6-3, 2-6, 10-8 in the final.
Also at the ITA Regionals, Al-Amin placed third in the main singles draw, defeating Tennessee's Moreno in straight sets in the third-place match.
Al-Amin will be back in action on Nov. 21-24 in the doubles bracket, along with Horak, at the NCAA Individual Championships in Waco, Texas.
