Blue Raiders welcome Rhodes College for midweek matchup

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Following a strong road win against UAB Sunday afternoon, the Middle Tennessee men's basketball team will return home Wednesday to take on Rhodes College. The Glass House matchup will tip off at 6:30 p.m. and can be streamed on ESPN+ as well as on Blue Raider Network.

• Middle Tennessee earned its second true road win of the season at UAB, taking down the Blazers 76-69.
• Senior Justin Bufford scored 15 points in the victory over the Blazers, going 7-for-8 from the charity stripe in addition to 3-for-6 shooting from the field. The 15 points marked a career high for the Selma, Ala., native.
• Essam Mostafa continues to lead the Blue Raiders in rebounding, averaging 8.75 boards per game, good for the league lead. The graduate student also leads the conference in total rebounds with 70. He's averaging the second most points per contest of any Blue Raider, scoring an averaging of 14.0 points per game.
• The Blue Raiders are consistently dominant in the Murphy Center, going 40-9 on home court over the past three seasons. From February 5, 2021 to December 3, 2022 the Blue Raiders did not drop a game in the Murphy Center, tying for fourth in program history for most consecutive home wins in that span. MT has lost just one game at home this season.
• Middle Tennessee excels in limiting opponents three-point scoring, holding opposing teams to just 27.2 percent from beyond the arc, a mark that ranks 30th in the nation and second in the conference.
• Averaging 80.8 points per game, the Blue Raiders have the second-best scoring offense in Conference USA, 0.2 points per game behind the league leader LA Tech.
• Torey Alston earned his second career double-figure night, dropping 10 points against UAB. He shot 60 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free throw line to go along with seven rebounds and two assists, the second time he's dished out two assists this season.
• A Preseason All-CUSA pick, Camryn Weston earned 12 points in the road upset over UAB and was just two rebounds short of his first double-double of the season. Pulling down three offensive boards, accompanied by five defensive boards, he also dished out a team-leading three assists on the afternoon. The senior knocked down all five free throws he was awarded, the most he's hit this season.

• Rhodes is 3-5 on the season after completing the 2023-24 season with a 12-16 record.
• Trevor Lombard leads the Lynx in scoring, averaging 16.0 through the first eight games of the season. Lombard shooting 40.6 percent from beyond the arc and 41.5 percent from the field to go along with an average of 3.9 rebounds per game.
• Shawn Jones Jr. brings down 7.5 boards per game, the most of any Lynx on the roster in just six games played this season.
• Rhodes has dropped its three most recent contests, including two home games. The team most recently hosted the All Academic Classic, falling to University of Chicago and Washington University in St. Louis by scores of 78-59 and 60-54, respectively.
• The Lynx average 66.1 points per game, while also collecting 36.13 rebounds per game. They are consistently outrebounded, however, yielding a -3.4 rebound margin.
